EFG İstanbul was founded in 2001 under the name of HC İstanbul as a boutique investment firm to engage in brokerage & corporate finance activities. The firm was acquired by the EFG Eurobank Ergasias Group, one of the leading financial services groups of Greece in April 2005. EFG Eurobank Ergasias Group acquired 70% stake in Tekfenbank in March 2007. In line with Eurobank EFG’s strategy to unite all of its Turkish operations under one umbrella, 100% of EFG İstanbul shares were transferred to Eurobank Tekfen in October 2007.
